Watch How It Works
We had the best experience with Neshamah getting out two children ready for their Bar and Bat Mitzvah. They both did the once a week Judaic Studies program with their friends and then the B’nai Mitzvah once a week studies. Rabbi Amy, Jennifer, Ellen and all of the staff create a very helpful, supportive and loving environment to learn in.
Why Boca Raton & South Florida Families Choose Neshamah for B’nai Mitzvah
A Spiritual Journey Where Every Young Person Can Shine
Your Schedule, Your Choice
No more Sunday morning battles. Choose the class session that works for your family each week. Tuesday or Sunday – you decide. Can’t make your regular time? Come to a different session. We work around sports, tutoring, and real life because Jewish life is meant to be part of real life.
More Than A Party
We focus on the spiritual meaning of Bar and Bat Mitzvah in addition to the practical skills. We’ve heard the complaint that the Bar Mitzvah is all about the party. However, at Neshamah, the party becomes a well deserved celebration of Jewish learning and spiritual growth. Our exceptional teachers help students discover their own Jewish voices, talents and questions as young Jewish adults. We empower students with knowledge and skills to be confident leaders on the Bnai Mitzvah day.
Personalized Mentoring
Our students are paired with a B’nai Mitzvah mentor who guides them in learning the material at their own best pace. Therefore, we tailor the curriculum and schedule to suit your family’s exact preferences.
Personalization is exactly why families searching for a Bar and Bat Mitzvah program in Boca Raton consistently choose Neshamah over larger synagogue alternatives.
Our program is led by Rabbi Amy Rader, ordained by the Jewish Theological Seminary and serving South Florida Jewish families for over 25 years.
Neshamah delivers the highest level of Bar and Bat Mitzvah education
paired with the personal mentoring and flexible scheduling that make life easier for busy modern families.

Hebrew school is not required for B’nai Mitzvah at Neshamah. We do recommend it because students who have some Hebrew and prayer background tend to feel more confident as they prepare, but it is never a barrier to enrollment. We have worked with students at every level, from total beginners to those with years of Jewish education. Our individualized approach means your child will be prepared and ready, whatever their starting point.
Neshamah does not require membership dues or building fees – just payment for the programs your family uses.
Preparing with Purpose
Our Bar and Bat Mitzvah Curriculum in Boca Raton
Hebrew Reading & Writing
Students master Hebrew letters, vowels, and reading fluency needed to chant their Torah portion and lead prayers with confidence. Our interactive digital lessons ensure every student can step up to the bimah prepared.
Torah & Jewish History
Students don’t just learn to read their Torah portion, they discover its deeper meaning.
We explore the Torah’s context, its message for our lives, and how to relate to ancient traditions in modern ways. It is one of the things that sets our Bar and Bat Mitzvah program in Boca Raton apart from a standard Hebrew school experience.
Prayer & Shabbat
Students learn to lead the Shabbat service with understanding and confidence. We break down the prayers’ meanings and melodies so they can guide the community through spiritual worship, not just recite words. Our students are ready to be leaders at any summer camp, synagogue or college environment.
Jewish Holidays & Values
Becoming B’nai Mitzvah means accepting responsibility for living Jewishly. Students explore how Jewish values and mitzvot guide their choices as they transition into Jewish adulthood. They learn what it means to be an active member of the Jewish community.
