Neshamah Institute

Reform rabbi interfaith wedding South Florida

Rabbi Amy Rader is the founder and senior rabbi of The Neshamah Institute, where she’s dedicated her career to innovating synagogue life. Ordained by the Conservative Movement’s Jewish Theological Seminary in 1999, she brings 25 years of pulpit experience to her vision of open-access, spiritually vibrant Judaism.

Rabbi Rader is passionate about creating personal connections with each congregant, reimagining Jewish rituals for contemporary life, and infusing every holiday and milestone – from Yom Kippur to B’nai Mitzvah – with deep Jewish spirit and modern relevance. She believes that ancient wisdom and innovative practice can come together to create transformative Jewish experiences.

Rabbi Rader’s vision for Judaism’s future centers on accessibility and authenticity. She believes the next generation of Judaism will thrive when we meet people where they are, creating pathways into Jewish life that feel personally meaningful rather than obligatory, and building communities that prioritize connection over uniformity. For Rabbi Rader, the future of Judaism is one where every soul can find a spiritual home, regardless of background, belief, or life circumstances.

Since launching Neshamah in 2010, Rabbi Rader and her team have grown the congregation to 950 families, five clergy, 300 students, and over 30 B’nai Mitzvah celebrations each year. She’s grateful to the passionate musicians, teachers, and volunteers who continue to bring Neshamah’s mission to life. Now in its second decade, Neshamah serves South Florida and beyond as a pioneering congregation returning joy, spirituality and belonging to the Jewish community.

Rabbi Rader is the proud Ima (mom) to four young adults – Caleb, Ruby, Yael, and Ezra – and one fur baby, Archie.
